Former NBA player Kentrell DeShaun Gaulden, also known professionally by his stage name YoungBoy Never broke up. Between 2020, Gaulden put out eight solo mixtapes, as well as seven with different groups. He became a sensation among many rappers due to his unique style of rapping, which included rhyming over rap beats and adding in various types of production. In the end, however, it seemed as though YoungBoy never broke up for good.
He had a lot of great music, but no real crossover hit, so his first album, “The Boys” did not receive a whole lot of mainstream attention. Gaulden's last album, “The Never Broke” was more of the same, but Gaulden was able to make some big changes.
“The Boys” was a hit but was not as well liked as “The Never Broke” by most people. In some reviews it has been called one of the worst albums ever released.
Since Gaulden broke up the group YoungBoy Never broke again was given another chance. Although he did not go back to his old style of rapping or use much rap production, he still made sure that his album would be different.
This album was not successful like the first one, but it was still considered a solid album, just like “The Never Broke” was. Gaulden was a new artist trying to break into the rap scene and he got some real good reviews on this release.
Despite what you might think, “Never Broke” was not bad by any means. It featured guest spots from some notable artists, including Snoop Doggy Dog, and it was a pretty good album. It is only unfortunate that there was not a wider release.
“The Boys” would not be the last time Gaulden released a solo album. He released four more albums between 2020 and present. Unfortunately, none of them were as popular or successful as the first.
The only thing that Gaulden managed to do to get the second album “The Never Broke” more successful was to put out two more studio albums, which he calls “The Never Breaking Tour.” This is a great album that contains eleven songs and features all the usual Kanye West influences as well as some other popular stars such as Rihanna and the Game. It is still pretty good though.
The last single that “The Boys” released was “Ride” from the “The Never Breaking Tour.” The song was released shortly after the death of the late Kanye West, who was responsible for giving Gaulden the chance to be heard in the rap world.
