The current 2018 Audi S6 is one of the fastest three door sedans on the market and seems to be the most tied to a strap that makes it very remarkable at the time of departure. Sad to say, the existing version has become obsolete, but it has been estimated that with the A6, it has generally been around for a short time. Fortunately, the car will be replaced by a brand new vehicle in the future. Using this new type, they should also launch the 2019 Audi S6, a brand new high performance vehicle that could quickly become the fastest car in its class. So far, specific details are still limited, but it seems that the new S6 will be lighter, faster and more cost effective. To experience this, these cars will be developed using a brand new base. The S6 will promote its MLB Evo Foundation with all the wishes of the new A8 or even the Q8. Due to the demanding metal system and the components of the CO2 fibers, it is predicted that the car will lose up to 200 kilograms of unwanted weight.
Although the test car is very camouflaged, we already know what a normal A6 looks like, so the 2018 Audi S6 is not a big mystery. We could say that the most important change since the beginning is the new A8 style grille. As in the full size saloon, the grille of a single previous frame has been replaced by a wider element with sharper edges. The new grid has three horizontal bars in the upper section, three more in the middle section with plastic bottom and one lower. Although the main grille does not have the honeycomb mesh of the RS models, the bumper vents on the side have a similar design. The headlights are also based on the A8. Not only are they thinner, but they also have a more angular design. With the new grille, they give the car a sportier and wider attitude. To complete the new front fascia of the 2018 Audi S6, there is a divider like element on the bottom of the bumper and a more muscular engine hood. We do not see much when we move sideways, mainly because Audi sedans generally have a profile with no distinctive features. Of course, there is a remarkable belt that goes right over the door handles, slightly reinforced rear legs and a pair of sporty side skirts, but the new 2018 Audi S6 is as unobtrusive as its predecessor. The rear fairing should be very similar to the standard A6. Look for the new sharp and thin taillights, the chrome strip through and the trunk lid, and a small spoiler on the top. The latter could be a bit bigger in the 2018 Audi S6, while the bumper should include something similar to a slightly sportier diffuser. All in all, the new 2018 Audi S6 is expected to offer an excellent transition from the sleek A6 model to the RS6 enhanced model that will follow.
Our paparazzi could not get close enough to take pictures of the interior, but it will be very similar to the last A6. However, this is good news since Audi has adopted a new dashboard design with the already known continuous ventilation band and a large screen on the center console. Another screen placed on the center console cleans the button and button unit, giving the interior a more modern look. The table screen will measure 10.1 inches diagonally and will include the latest MMI system with navigation and all the great apps. Next, the 8.6 inch display will provide access to the climate control system, text input and other convenient features. The third screen will be placed behind the wheel as the company’s virtual booth. A 12.3 inch digital display replaces traditional analog dials and provides information on speed and navigation. This unit can have different sportier graphics in the 2018 Audi S6. The sedan also needs the A6 semi autonomous assistance functions, including the parking pilot, City Assist with assistance for crossings and the assistance kit for excursions with adaptive cruise control and assistance for track maintenance. Other benefits should include a high end audio system and two sets of interior lighting. Of course, the 2018 Audi S6 will get additional items such as standard leather trim, unique aluminum finishes and perhaps even optional carbon fiber. In terms of dimensions, the 2018 Audi S6 will benefit from the larger cabin of the A6. Expect improvements in legroom for the rear seats, for the head and for the front and back of the shoulder area. The trunk space will remain unchanged at 18.7 cubic feet, which means you can carry two golf bags.
The current 2018 Audi S6 is a powerful sedan thanks to its 4.0 liter turbocharged V-8 engine, rated at 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, but production is expected to increase significantly for the new model On the other hand, Audi has recently reduced some engines and the V-8 will be replaced by a smaller twin turbo V6 of 2.9 liters. A similar engine has been introduced for the new RS5. In the coupe, the V-6 produces 450 horsepower and 442 lb-ft. A similar start would not be a big improvement over the 2018 Audi S6, but lighter shoring and improved aerodynamics should bring significant improvements in performance. However, I think Audi will take a bit more of the V-6 thrust, probably around 470 horsepower and 460 lb/ft. With these numbers, the improved automatic transmission and all the improvements mentioned above, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h should drop from 4.4 seconds to 4.2 seconds more appealing, even 4.1 ticks. On the other hand, the maximum speed will remain stuck at the usual speed of 155 mph. The S Tronic automatic transmission should be new, while the standard Quattro AWD system should have a revised version compared to the outgoing model. Software adjustments and new electronics will make the new 2018 Audi S6 more responsive and agile.
The price remains to be discovered forever. On the other hand, it turns out that there is no risk of imagining why they will not be so low. The base version is expected to start at over $ 75,000 with all matrix models opting for nearly $ 100,000. We expect the 2018 Audi S6 to be on the market early in 2018.
