2020 Acura ILX Comparison Test Coupe Curb Weight Dimensions

The 2020 Acura ILX compact sedan is not a fully-fledged luxury car, but brings enough beauties to the table to be a convincing argument for a premium entry-level product to be considered. Acura ILX will remain virtually unchanged for 2020, with the exception of a few minor functional changes. Under the skin it is still based on the newest generation Honda Civic, which costs a bit in terms of sophistication and comfort. For this reason (and for other reasons) we rate the 2020 Acura ILX with 4.7 out of 10 points.

The exterior is characterized by wheels of different colors and safety is increased by checking the blind spot and warning of cross traffic in the rear. The equipment with the Acura ILX technology 2020 builds on Premium and expands the rear-view camera with navigation, services associated with AcuraLink, dynamic guidelines and an Acura / ELS studio audio system with 10 speakers. The 2020 Acura ILX A-Spec also builds on the Premium, but offers a sportier exterior and interior. A dark chrome grille, dark headlight and rear light housings, LED fog lights, a black diffuser at the rear and spoiler and black 18-inch wheels give the exterior its own appearance. The 2020 Acura ILX is a five-seat sedan. The 34-inch legroom behind and the 12.4 cubic-foot trunk are considerably less than the Honda Civic, which runs on a newer platform. The basic 2020 Acura ILX contains an almost complete list of active safety equipment and advanced driver aids such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure, lane delay and adaptive cruise control. For all other panels, the blind spot monitoring and the rear-side traffic warning are included. The entry level 2020 Acura ILX includes 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and rear lights and heated side mirrors. The approach entrance makes way for the seats upholstered in artificial leather, an eight-way driver’s seat, heated front seats, a two-zone climate control, a leather-covered steering wheel and a shift knob.

The 2020 Acura ILX Premium cockpit receives various updates for the interior. In addition to the improved infotainment system, it offers leather seats, memory functions for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, and a passenger seat in four directions. Suede inserts for the seats, unique decorative parts, an ebony headliner and stainless steel pedals add to the sporty feel from the inside. The basic 2020 Acura ILX model has a 5-inch touchscreen, but most want to upgrade to the 8-inch touchscreen of the Premium with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth, a USB connection, Pandora compatibility and Siri Eyes Free are included in all equipment. The navigation is standard of the technological finish.

The 2020 Acura ILX fills a place in the Acura range that was once devoted to compact sports cars such as the Integra and the RSX. Unfortunately, it does not really do justice to this legacy. We rate it with 5 out of 10 points. The 2020 Acura ILX transmission is a highlight, but there is not much in terms of performance. With 201 HP, the 2020 Acura ILX offers slightly more power than many other small cars. The 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with a torque of 180 pounds-foot does not jump from the side, but is enough to get the job done. Thanks to the 8-speed dual clutch transmission, the 2020 Acura ILX offers remarkable acceleration and fast, smooth gear changes. Paddles on wheels can make the experience more attractive.

The 2020 Acura ILX is available in four versions: ILX, Premium, Technology and A-Spec. Prices start at $ 26,895 for the basic 2020 Acura ILX and rise to $ 30,745 for the A-Spec.
