The latest addition to the massively popular Halo franchise has become highly anticipated with fans wanting more from the story. Although the storyline is familiar to most fans, it's still a massive departure from previous installments, and this can cause many questions to arise. If you're unfamiliar with the story so far then I can assure you that Halo Infinite has a lot to offer. I'll briefly run through some of the biggest points for those who aren't familiar with the game yet.
Master Chief is back from the dead following a massive battle with an ancient Covenant force. He is now able to use all his weapons without any limitations, but must be watched constantly by AI to make sure he's still capable of fighting. This is to ensure Master Chief's mission never fails, as failure to do so could result in the Covenant eradicating all life on the planet.
The storyline of Halo Infinite is a much bigger one than other installments. We see an alien race called the Covenant, who have invaded a large part of the planet and have made the human race as their slaves. As the humans fight to repel the Covenant and regain control of their own home, Master Chief is tasked with finding a way to stop them.
His main villain is a mysterious Covenant commander known as Arbiter Salus, who has been manipulating the whole game. However, the story isn't entirely about this character, as he is actually a very important part of the overall storyline. The reason for this is that Master Chief will be forced into taking on the role of an Arbiter at one point or another.
Master Chief is now not only fully equipped with his own armor and weapons, but also has the help of a new weapon named the Arbiter, who helps Master Chief finds a way to stop the Covenant. However, he doesn't do much good for the majority of the game and ends up becoming a prisoner of the Covenant. However, he is freed at the end of the game, and the two go head to head once again.
Overall, Halo Infinite is set to continue . . . . . . to entertain fans long after the last game finished. It offers new characters, a brand new storyline, and even introduces an entirely new set of enemies. This means that if you're looking to play the latest entry in this highly-popular franchise, you won't have to wait very long for Halo: Reach or even for Halo 3 to come out.
