So you've broken it, so to speak and got your brand new iPhone into a bit of a fix. You might not be too upset about this, if you're a gadget freak who loves nothing more than having his hands soaked in a phone or a mobile screen. But iPhones aren't just for gadget freaks. It's also possible to get your iPhone to look just like the wallpaper you see on most computers.
So how do you go about it? It really depends on how much time and effort you want to spend getting the right look. If you're in a hurry, or if you want a lot of choice, then it might be a good idea to try and hack away at the system. If you're prepared to invest a little time and patience in the right places, then a custom iPhone background should be right up your street.
The first thing you need to do, once you've got your device opened up to you, is to download a custom wallpaper. Don't worry, you don't have to spend a fortune on this, as there are some really good iPhone downloading sites out there. Just do a Google search for your default wallpaper and you'll find a long list of results. You can download one based on your interests or a photo of your choice. Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, you could try and change the wallpaper entirely.
If you're planning to change the default wallpaper on your iPhone, you will need to open the Settings app by clicking the “Home” button and scrolling down to the bottom of the screen. At the bottom of this screen, you will see “Settings.” Tap this and then scroll down until you are able to see “General.” This is where you will select “aterial color,” “theme colors,” “wallpapers,” and “button styles.”
Once you've done that, just click on the plus sign next to “wallpapers,” then “select new.” Here you can choose from a wide array of images. If you want to change your default wallpaper, all you have to do is select “set as wallpaper,” and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Changing your default wallpaper does have its drawbacks. Not only will your current wallpaper be gone (and probably won't be back again), you also have to get a new image from somewhere else on your device. To do this, you can use the IMAP and POP3 services in the Mail app. When you tap the globe icon, you will be taken to a web page where you can insert a file of your choosing. It's easy to get new images this way, but if you want your old default wallpaper back, you will have to recreate the image again.
Of course, not everyone has an iPhone and would love to change their default wallpaper. For those of you who don't have one, or who don't like the look of your default wallpaper, it's time to do something about it! There are two good options for doing this, and they both work very well. One option involves downloading an iPhone tweak/theme that you can install on your device and use to change the wallpaper. The other option is to get a custom wallpaper that has been created specifically for the iPhone, such as a collage of photos of you and your friends or family.
Either option should give you the same results as changing your default wallpaper. Just remember to use the downloads that are available through the official Apple website and to download the new wallpaper from a reputable company. Changing your default wallpaper is fun, easy and simple way to give your iPhone a whole new look. Enjoy!
