Billie Eilish is a British actress, model and singer who have gone from obscurity to stardom with her breakthrough music video “Banksy's Biggest Loser”. She is best known for her work in the area of theatre, television and films. She has also gained a lot of attention over the last few years as one half of the successful comedy duo The Only Way Is Essex. Her comic performances earned her an award from the Radio Times naming her one of the best female comedians of all time. Now she is back in the spotlight after a few years away from the public eye to revisit her old stage roles and try her hand at a new direction with a new album.
As a young girl Billie was often picked on for her thick hair and a petite body, but she always had the eye for the dramatic and went on to become one of the best known artists of her generation. She rose to prominence in her later years and began a long career in theatre and films. The influence of her career can be seen today in the way her wallpaper is marketed, particularly by the companies that make wallpaper borders and backgrounds for computers. As well as Banksy's famous tagline “Don't Mess With The Zohan” now there is Billie's name on the homes of millions of homes across the world.
Billie was born in Scarborough in a family of six, her parents being separated when she was young. Her younger brother George is an artist who now works in London. After her parents separated Billie went to live in rented accommodation near their old home in North Yorkshire. There she met her future husband Neil Harrop. Their married life was brief and they were soon divorced.
Neil is a photographer by trade. One of the images that he worked on while living in Bletchley, West Yorkshire was a photo essay entitled: “The Girls in Waiting”. This was printed on a wallpaper border. Billie became interested in photography as a young girl and this led to her becoming a photographer by profession. She began to photograph women in waiting at court houses, railway stations and public places, often placing her subjects in frames.
Billie began to photograph girls aged sixteen and older and this led her to develop a liking for this age group. She was so good at it that her portraits became very popular. These pictures gained the reputation of featuring slightly older ladies who looked confident yet delicate in their surroundings. Their best attributes were highlighted by Billie's elegant yet provocative poses.
Although, she did not admit to it at first, many people began to speculate that she may have been a secretarial or modeling agent as well. Some even thought that she might have been linked to royalty. There are many pictures of the King and Queen Elizabeth II where Billie can be spotted. It is possible that her subjects were agents of the royal family or had access to the Queen. The subject of the wallpaper in her photos were always the stunning young women whom the author claimed to like to pose for her. Many of the subjects were showgirls from Covent Garden, where the author frequented quite often.
The background wallpaper that Billie made was usually very detailed with the girls dressed in formal or casual clothes, sometimes even silk. Her subjects would also wear jewellery, which included large diamond studded bracelets on their wrists. It is not certain whether these items were genuine or fake. We do know that Billie was a great fan of the Queen and spent a lot of time looking at pictures of her and admiring the beauty of her collection of jewels.
Billie's background wallpaper is different to the traditional type of celebrity glamour wallpapers that you see all over the internet. Unlike most of these girls' backgrounds, Billie's featured perfectly aged women with considerably good grooming. This does not mean that she didn't work hard at her photography either. Many of her images feature young and attractive women in stylish clothes and make-up. This does not mean that Billie's photographs are not beautiful, as many people will no doubt be quick to point out.
