In late October, American Airlines announced that it was merging with US Airways, one of the largest airline companies in the world. American is the world's largest carrier by total passenger traffic and is the world's third busiest airline after London Heathrow and British Airways. American's parent company is Bank of America, and it is not clear whether or not American will retain the Bank of America brand name. As part of the transaction, American Airlines will acquire Bank of America's aviation department, which is the biggest single contract carrier in the world. Bank of America's credit facility with American Airlines was not included in the acquisition, nor is the bank's credit facility with Bank of America associated with the deal.
There had been much speculation as to what American's move means for consumers and brokers alike. The acquisition of Bank of America by American Airlines will effectively give American the leverage it needs to negotiate better deals with other airlines and hotels. Also, it gives American the world elite Mastercard space as one of its major credit card brands. American will also be able to continue servicing their current Airways Mastercard users with an additional American-branded card named the Aadvantage Aviator.
The world elite credit card is offered exclusively through American Airlines. The credit limit on the American Airlines cards are higher than the normal limit on all other American Airlines cards. It is unclear why American decided to charge more on the aadvantage aviator silver and aadvantage red Mastercard when it is abundantly clear that they have the financial leverage to offset any increase in costs with higher ticket prices. Reports have suggested that the price increases could stem from the fact that Bank of America no longer has a direct partnership with Bank of America. Some insiders also opine that American is in talks to launch a new brand of business cards called American Express Travel Club, which will compete directly with Bank of American's AMEX and they are expected to launch sometime in 2010.
As part of the deal to acquire Bank of America, American Airlines will merge its card programs with those of Bank of America and CitiBank. This will result in all American Airlines cards being available to members of Bank of America and CitiBank. CitiBank offers the AMEX and the avantages but American will still offer all its advantages and the ability to earn cash rewards on all of its flights. It also appears that American has finally recognised that there is no longer any need to launch any new products as long as they remain competitive within their own industry: they are the airline industry.
American has joined the club of global airline companies who now have a direct relationship with one of the largest banks in the world. The merging of these two giants will result in greater synergy and greater market penetration for all of their airlines and additional benefits to be reaped by the bank which is a British Crown Colony. This means that American Airlines will be able to attract more customers by offering special deals and discounts. All American Airline routes will now be operated . . . . . . by British Airways. American Airlines has also agreed to work with the world's leading leisure airline, Lufthansa, to support the growth of Lufthansa.
Aviator Mastercard is one of the most widely accepted credit cards in the world. American Airlines is going to extend its card rewards programme to include all American Airlines flights worldwide. Each of the airline's American Express Gold Cards will earn you miles for every dollar spent. As American is going to offer you five different American Express Gold Card designs to choose from, there will definitely be one to suit your needs and financial capacity. As you use your points to pay for your ticket, you earn additional bonuses and exclusive benefits such as free airline tickets, free hotel stays, dining passes, travel insurance and much more.
The merge of these two giants will allow for greater customer satisfaction and more product variety for customers. The American Express credit card will also work as a direct deposit tool for American Airlines. As American Airlines and Aviator are almost equal in terms of service, it will be easier for you to make travel plans and maximize the rewards that you are entitled to from American Airlines. The instant approval process for this deal will further increase American Airlines customer satisfaction as well as increase the product offering on both the American Airlines and Aviator Mastercard travel cards.
When you join American Airlines and avail of the great deals, earn miles for every dollar spent, and get access to the best services, you become part of an interesting alliance that will enable you to grow and succeed in the aviation industry. With the instant-approval process, you will not have to wait for long to be qualified for this wonderful opportunity. Aviator and American Airline will work hand-in-hand to give their customers the tools they need to fly the high-quality flight that they deserve. This deal is something worth checking out if you belong to any of the cardholders listed above.
