Seven Common Mistakes Everyone Makes In Barclaycards | Barclaycards

Nowadays there is an increasing trend for contactless payment using plastic money. It is becoming the preferred choice in the field of credit card payment especially for merchants. The reason is that this new payment scheme not only offers higher speed but also lower risk as no bank details are required and the receiver does not carry any balance or account number as a physical object.

As most of us have experienced contactless payment schemes can be very time consuming and inconvenient if we need to carry lots of items with us. For example you could get your groceries from the supermarket and pay with a plastic card. If you want to buy a little bit of jewellery or perhaps you would like to make a purchase of a gift for someone special then you would have to ring up the retailer, find out if the store allows credit cards and wait in line for several hours. This can be rather difficult if you are already in a rush and don't want to waste any time at all.

The problem with this was that it was very uneconomical for the average consumer. It took so long to get approved for a card and therefore many people simply stopped applying for new ones because they felt that it was pointless to continue spending on the same ones as you already had. However, in recent times things have changed. Barclaycard is now the most widely used credit card provider in the UK and many of the top banks are now offering their own barclaycards. Contactless has been introduced in September 2021 and since then we have seen a massive amount of retailers implement this technology into their business and lots of ordinary consumers are starting to use barclaycards for their everyday spending. So, for instance, last month Barclays and all of its branches in the UK started using contactless cards which not only make transactions fast but they also allow customers to pay in cash as well!

This means that there are now more people who are able to spend money on these cards rather than in cash. Not only is cash increasingly rare, nowadays most of us don't carry cash with us anyway, so the change in attitude towards credit cards is a welcome one. In the past the entire credit industry was built around the principle of Mastercard and Visa being the 'in thing' in the financial world, as everyone used them. Now that trend has turned completely around, people aren't necessarily prepared to spend large sums of money on plastic anymore!

Of course this is where barclaycards come in. As a business owner you can set your personal spending limits on your new card and ensure that you never get approved for more than that limit. By restricting spending you will ensure that you never get stuck in a situation . . . . . . where you are unable to pay for something that you have already spent money on. For example, you can set a spending limit for your barclaycard and never be approved for more than that.

This means that you can avoid paying top dollar for a bottle of wine, a pair of shoes or even an entertainment system! All you need to do to get your barclaycard approved is to show that you are a responsible and trustworthy person, whilst at the same time ensuring that your spending does not exceed your 'spend limit'. This of course does not mean that you would ever let someone down financially! If you are spending a large sum of money on your barclaycard then you should consider whether you are using your credit cards wisely. You should always consider whether it would be cheaper just to pay cash instead.

Some credit cards that issue barclaycards offer a special incentive, such as a special dinner, concert or charity event that you can take advantage of. However if these events are not available every month then you may need to reconsider your plans. If you discover that you can no longer take advantage of these special offers, then you will need to reconsider your options. You could contact the companies involved and tell them that you have realised that you have overspent beyond the available incentive scheme. They may be willing to re-evaluate your spending habits with the knowledge that they could lose their ability to issue you a barclaycard.

If you want to use your barclaycard for airfares only then you should find out how the points work. All companies that issue barclaycards give their customers an incentive when they buy airline tickets with their cards. The incentive comes in the form of a fixed number of points. Each point that you have represents money that you have paid towards airline tickets. These airline tickets are usually located within a range of flight dates. If you book flights at a later date, you will be able to use all of your points towards that flight.
