Modern or traditional the farmhouse wall decor is so versatile that it will perfectly work with almost any theme of farmhouse interior design. Keeping it minimalistic so it truly manifests as a focal point in your living area. The farmhouse will truly be the centerpiece of your living space and definitely one of the first things you will notice when coming into your farmhouse.
To begin, let's discuss color choices. There are tons of options here; there really is something for everyone. If you want something with more of an old fashioned look, then consider going with the original colors of white and cream. To add to the old-fashioned look to use the same colors but add a touch of red and/or pink. For an ultra-modern take on farmhouse window frames go with black and white that also has a touch of pink.
The next choice we have for this focal point would be to add a picture frame. This is a great way to display an important photo or other piece of artwork you have. I like to use a frame that has an oil rubbed gold finish. This adds some extra texture and charm to your glass (frame) frame. Another great thing about picture frames is that you can use them for any farmhouse window frames, not just ones with cornered windows.
Another great place for your farmhouse wall decor ideas would be to use wooden blinds. These can be found in almost any lumber type store and can come in many different colors. Personally I prefer to use wood blinds with a white or cream toned finish. This is a simple way to dress up the windows while bringing in the natural beauty of the wood. Another core concept would be to use a cornice; this would look great on a farmhouse with wooden beams.
For another farmhouse Cor related idea we would also consider adding some corrugated plastic barn wood panels to the outside of the front of our home. Barn wood is also available in almost any color and texture you could imagine. You could also add corrugated Roman blinds to the inside of the barn as well.
Finally, for my third choice for an entrance way to my farmhouse I wanted to add some sort of wall mounted WOW style light fixture. This would be perfect for the end of my porch or when the light was not needed. The light could then be directed onto an accent wall for additional accent. I decided on a bronze finish for the light fixture because it matched my other farmhouse pieces.
My fourth and final option for an interesting farmhouse Cor theme would be to add a rustic dining area to my back yard. For this project I again turned to my old friend coriny. He graciously allowed me to take over his existing four-sided shed (which he had previously used as a playroom) and relocate all of his kitchen appliances to the four walls of the shed. He provided all of the needed hardware and coordinating paint.
With my back yard in place and the hanging of the Farmhouse wall decor in place I was ready to host a few friends and family for a small get together. With my friend's help I created an outdoor sitting area by adding two rustic wooden benches and two hanging farmhouse motif mason jars. With my new friends around I decided to serve them tapas, a traditional Spanish dish of rice and peas. Along with the fresh vegetables and homemade bread we served the delightful fare. My neighbors and friends were amazed at how great the fresh ingredients turned out and how easy it was to transition from the outdoor table to the indoor table with the rustic hanging corks for serving.
