The video for “I Feel It Coming” from the Canadian group, The Weeknd's debut album, Starboy, is a spectacular and visually impressive piece. The movie begins with Lana Del Rey performing the title song alone, accompanied by her backing dancers. Lana quickly loses interest in the track and decides to climb up the H on the Hollywood sign in search of a better view. She meets The Weeknd, who looks at the city lights above them, admiring their beauty.
Lana quickly notices the man wearing the red scarf and realizes that he has been watching her for quite some time. She pulls away from the man, but does not feel like he is following her, but rather watching her for several seconds. Then she notices him standing right in front of her, and turns back around. He continues to watch her for about 30 seconds, so she slowly climbs down from the sign.
Once in the street, the camera pans down the road as the scene fades to a car driving past and the person inside watching the show begins to dance. The next shot shows The Weeknd dancing to another tune as he runs over a few pedestrians. A few moments later, the video cuts to the pair sitting together and dancing. Finally, the scene pans down to the back of the car and it becomes clear that it belongs to an actress who has been taking photos of the pair.
One interesting thing about this video is that, despite all the activity going on around her, the woman seems to be enjoying the experience. She seems to smile, laugh, and even laugh out loud as she takes her camera with her. This is a very nice touch, considering the fact that the video features a woman in a very sexy and revealing outfit who is not only enjoying her moment on screen, but also enjoying the whole experience while doing it.
The music that plays throughout the video is another nice change, as the lyrics of the chorus are changed to suit the new music. The Weeknd's original “in your arms” verse is replaced by a new verse that talks about the woman who is dancing next to him. The original verse talks about him chasing after her and the man in her arms. The man is then joined by a man who dances with her and the two women make their way to where the man in the red scarf was standing just minutes earlier.
The video ends with the man and woman standing next to the Hollywood Sign, which is clearly visible in the background. With a great amount of detail and an eye-catching choreography, “I Feel It Coming” from The Weeknd and Lana is one of the most exciting videos of this year.
