In my opinion the best LEGO City airport scenes have to be the one's that show an actual aircraft taking off from runway and landing at an airfield. Usually there is some kind of action that happens in the background. Some passengers get off and another plane lands. I really like this kind of LEGO City background. The one that you can build with just about anything and everything else that goes along with a LEGO set.
We all know what it is like to work on a real aircraft. There is nothing like the feeling of lifting a giant piece of metal and then watching it take off. All the sudden there is sound, there is smoke and fire and it just looks great. This is what we want to be like when we are building our own backgrounds for our LEGO sets. It all looks good as well.
We all know that airplanes are not the only ones that can make great LEGO City backgrounds. We also have trains and boats and buoys. You name it, we have it. Now there are two things we have to keep in mind. One is the scale factor and the other is the size of the buildings we have chosen to place in the background. In order to do this we will have to take the model of the actual building and scale it down.
Here is where things can get a little tricky. If your model is too big, you are going to have a lot of trouble. But if it is too small, you are going to look silly. You are probably wondering how this is done. It is not as difficult as you may think it is.
Basically all you have to do is take a photo of the actual buildings that appear in the background of the LEGO City. There are a lot of sites on the internet that will allow you to download photos of buildings that appear in the LEGO Harry Potter sets. These photos can be scaled down and used as backgrounds for your buildings.
Of course the buildings will not all look the same. You are going to have to make some choices about how you want the buildings arranged. You can have them look as if they were placed randomly or you can arrange them in certain ways. The choice is up to you.
Some people like to change the layout of the background once in a while. This allows them to experiment with different arrangements. They can make the buildings look like they are located in the middle of a parking lot. Or they might rearrange them so that they appear to be on a hill.
Whatever you decide to do with your buildings, just remember that the best way to create a good LEGO City background is to make sure that the scale of the buildings is correct. The buildings should not be too large or too small. It should look just right. In order to really get the effect you are after, use a program such as Paint Shop Pro to make the background as realistic as possible. It will make everything come together nicely and bring life to your creations.
Another thing to remember is that when putting together a LEGO City background, you should try to coordinate the buildings with each other. This means that you should not put two buildings next to each other on the same level. You should build the two buildings slightly apart, or even place them on different levels. The trick is to make the architecture look like it belongs in the same city as the other pieces. You might need to make changes to the pieces that you are using to make everything fit properly.
You may also want to place something like a trash can in the background. This is easy enough to accomplish. All you need to do is to find some plastic milk cans and stick them onto the buildings. Then, you can use the same paint that you used for the rest of the LEGO City set to paint in the letters that make up the name of the buildings.
When you are done, you should look at your completed project and feel like you did something really neat! You should be proud of yourself because you were able to create a completely original look all on your own. If you are feeling creative and adventurous, you might want to take some time and make some additions to the buildings that you have already made – and maybe use some of the other buildings from other sets to help make everything look even better.
