Blackpink is a lovely neon-pink that's available only at Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Target. I'm a big fan of both pink and black, and love anything to do with the color black. So when I found out about this great black background paint, I was thrilled. However, like any baby born into this world, I couldn't stop to consider all of the pros and cons. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks… there are all kinds of pros and cons related to using black on your wall, including pros and cons related to using black paint on your wall.
Pros: Black is a deep, rich color that looks great with almost every type of wall color. It blends in well, and you don't have to worry about it being an eyesore. Plus, the subdued, natural tones make black a very pleasant, subtle tone for bedroom walls. It will still stand out if you're using pink blush, but it's subtle enough to fit in with other bedroom decor.
Aesthetically, black and pink work really well together. Since black is typically associated with death or darkness, blacking seems sort of sexy and deathly. That's why black can be used as a contrast with pink in a wallpaper or design project or a tattoo.
One con about blacking is that it can seem garish next to more light or white floral designs. Black tends to look more bumpy than pink. Even if you get it really close to the edge, it might be too much for some tastes.
Another con is that black and pink may clash. If you match blacking up against white floral wall decals, it could look garish. You can solve that problem by choosing something different, like hot pink. You can also balance it out by using black fabric on the wall and pink fabric on the blushes.
One last con is that black pink blush may not last as long as you'd like. You can improve the life of your blush by using it more often and changing its color. For example, you can change your black pink blush to pink mid-tones whenever you think pink looks nice. The only drawback to this is that you will have to change your wallpaper every so often because your current blush color will wash out.
So overall, blackpink is a good choice for an occasional use or a special design project. It's relatively inexpensive when compared to other blush colors. It doesn't date as easily as some of the other more expensive colors. It's also durable. With a little TLC, you should be able to create a bold, modern design for your bedroom wall that will work with your black wallpaper.
Use your black pink blush on your walls and leave it alone. Leave it alone! Don't worry about it drying out or getting ugly over time.
If you do choose to use black wallpaper, make sure you pick a sturdy black border. This will take up a little more space, but it will also make the room look less cluttered. It's best to use solid black as your border or to mix it with white. Another option would be to paint one wall a solid color (maybe the focal point of the room), then use black border paint to make the rest of the room lighter.
Another thing to consider is the texture of your black wallpaper. Some are smoother than others. If your walls are rough or have a rough texture, your blush might end up looking blotchy. A smoother black finish is much better for this purpose.
Once your black wallpaper is installed, lightly apply blush to your walls in small areas. To get the best results, apply blush in a vertical motion, starting on the longest wall and working your way down. Make sure to cover each square inch of wall space. For the best effect, you can cover the entire room. Be careful not to cover your counter tops or appliances with black paint.
Using black pink blush is fun and simple. It adds interest to plain walls and makes the room seem smaller. It doesn't have to be overwhelming or even dramatic to be effective. With a little bit of imagination, you can create a unique space that you'll love to spend time in.
